Audio Visual Cultures – Built Environment – Creative Research Methods
Zahra Hussain is an Architect, Curator, Academic and a Wanderer. She holds an MA in Visual Cultures from Goldsmiths in London and currently doing a PhD in Human Geography at Durham University, UK. Founding Laajverd in 2007 as an undergrad, Zahra has taught at National College of Arts, directed plays, exhibited across four continents and documented the trees of an entire forest. Zahra works at the intersections of cultural and heritage landscapes – community engagement and knowledge production. She initiated the project Academy for Democracy under which she has successfully conducted four Visiting School programs in Northern Pakistan. Zahra is actively working towards making the LVS a dynamic interdisciplinary platform for conducting research in conflict and disaster zones.
